CreativeINK Launches

On Saturday morning we officially launched CreativeINK with an information session at the Gladstone City Library. Those who attended learned all about CreativeINK and our plans for the future as well and we were excited to take on board their idea’s and questions. It was great to be in a room full of people who obviously love writing and reading as much as we do and are as passionate about encouraging other’s to do the same.

Here are a few snap shots from the event:

If you weren’t able to make it to our launch but would like to know more about CreativeINK and what we offer please let us know via email creativeink.cq@hotmail.com.

Writing After Dark

Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people aged between 12 and 25 in the Gladstone Region during which the Gladstone Regional Council supports free events.

Creative Ink were excited to be able to run one of these events, “Writing After Dark.” The workshop gave participants the opportunity to explore writing in the ‘darker’ genres of fantasy, thrillers, horror and sci-fi. During the workshop we covered creating believable characters, plots and tropes, and each participant left the night with the beginning of a story. Of course, the night was fuelled by lollies along with pizza for dinner to fuel the creative brain cells.

Thank you to everyone who signed up for the workshop, we had a great time exploring the darker genres with you all!

SunFest 2019

Each year in January the Gladstone Regional Council puts on the SUNfest Youth Program for two weeks to give youth in the region the opportunity to try new activities. This year CreativeINK were lucky enough to be able to present our Genre Blitz: 6 Genre’s in one day workshop.

Fuelled by chocolate, it was a great day full of creativity and many words as we created stories in six different genres including Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction & Dystopian, Paranormal, Contemporary and Mystery. We started the day with creating two main characters to throw in each genre and boy did they have a crazy day. Here’s a snapshot of all of the fun!

Thanks to the participants for their enthusiasm and imagination!

The Journey Begins

Thank you for joining us!
We are Sue-Ellen Pashley and Linda (L.J) Higgins, and we are the brains and creativity behind Creative INK. Our goal is to create opportunities for people to explore the world of books and writing, and to encourage you to tell your own stories through workshops and events in the Central Queensland area.
We both met through a local writers group in 2016, and we clicked right away. When we began brainstorming the ideas behind Creative INK it was easy to see we where both on the same page and had the same passion for inspiring and helping others to reach their goals and achieve their dreams.
You can find out more about us and our books on Our Facilitators page. Together we have published across a broad range of genres and audiences through both the Traditional and Self-Published channels. We understand the up’s and down’s of the publishing and writing world and how important it is to have a community of like minded people to support you.
If you’re a local writer looking to connect with other writers please join the Gladstone Region Writers Facebook group!
Please take the time to look through the many workshops we have available, and feel free to contact us if you can’t see what you’re looking for as we’re always open to creating something unique.
